Solar Electric

U.S. Grid Solutions and its affiliates offer a wide range of solar panel systems and can tailor solutions to meet the needs of almost any business or institutional application. We provide evaluation, design, permitting, construction, financing, incentive and rebate capture and supporting services to deliver cost-effective long lasting solutions.

Solar-generated electricity makes sense in many applications. Solar cells are made from materials engineered for efficiency, durability and longevity and are based on observations made over 130 years ago that certain materials spontaneously release electrons when exposed to light. A well installed solar system requires virtually no maintenance. Most installations have no moving parts and all will produce pollution free electricity from sunlight for many years. Solar panels available from U.S. Grid Solutions have limited output warranties of 20-25 years and generally an expected useful life of 30 years.

Due to U.S. Grid Solutions' financing options, in many cases customers are able to finance these systems at a monthly cost that is less than their average monthly savings. The payback period requires a detailed analysis for each situation but many businesses and organizations will find these systems to be very affordable. U.S. Grid Solutions offers market leading products with monocrystalline, polycrystalline and amorphous silcon modules that vary in compactness, output efficiency and price. We deliver complete systems with modules, mounting systems, power management, monitoring and grid interface to make your project successful.

Solar power systems are good for the environment in many ways and good for the power grid. Since maximum output from solar matches the times of greatest demand for electricity and greatest strain on the power grid, there are many state, federal and utility incentives to encourage rapid development of solar power and other renewable energy sources. Most locations have mandated "net metering" arrangements which allow owners of solar production facilities to sell their excess power to the utility.

In 2011, there is a special bonus depreciation of 100% of the cost of these systems. Let us show you how the federal Business Energy Investment Tax Credit of 30%, local and utility incentives plus our innovative financing options can be combined in a winning strategy for your organization.

Monocrystalline modules are built using high purity silicon similar to that used for computer chips. High purity silicon makes these units very high efficiency in converting sunlight into power so installations can be smaller, more concentrated, but also somewhat higher in cost.

This line of solar modules is made of polycrystalline silcon, which can be manufactured at somewhat lower cost and therefore less expensive but require more panel area for equivalent power production.

Another line of modules is manufactured using amorphous cell technology and are very resource efficient to manufacture. Their "energy payback" is only 1.5 years, meaning that the total energy required for their manufacturing is produced by the panel in about 18 months. These are quite cost effective when adequate space is available. They are also well suited for situations where sunlight is less direct to the panel surface or where the orientation is not optimum.

Some of the available lines can be incorporated in the building exterior: in window or building panels, skylights, solar shading or elsewhere in new construction or in remodeling existing structures.
