In addition to federal tax rebates of up to 30% for certain technologies there are accelerated depreciation schedules for some capital equipment, increased to a 100% bonus for installations during 2011. The utility and rate-payer-funded programs may cover 10% or more of the cost of energy efficient equipment, up to 50% or more of the total installed project cost particularly for energy generation from renewable sources.
